Hi everyone,
Last week I got three new piggles and one of them is the emerging piggle breed, Lunkyara.

Does anyone have any info on how much to bath/wash and maintain them? Since their fur is so long and matted.... thank you in advance for all your advice.
😊

I brush my long haired pig Pepper twice a week, trim his bottom area once every 2 months.
He hasn’t needed a bath in ages he had about 2 in his first year of life when he wasn’t as good at keeping clean.
I’m the summer I shave him shorter so he isn’t too hot 😊
Peppers fur isn’t quiet as wild as a Lunk but it’s similar!

Thank you, unfortunately she's actually blind in her left eye..... there's nothing there at all, the person that surrended her claimed that she was born that way but the people I adopted her from says that she's so timid and her ears are quite batted and torn, that they think she got into a fight and the owners didn't do anything until it was too late..... all three girls have some kind of disability.

Decided to name her Mouse 🐁

That's a lovely name for a lovely piggie. I find that piggies tend to choose their own names. Some fit and some don't.

Haha the little one is named Angelica because she's so little and tiny 🤣 and you're right, names fit the personality of the piggle ☺

Tbf she made it easy, she ALWAYS keeps to the side and barley interacts with the others, it's only when I say the code name for fresh veg they are now learning to react ^.^ ..... yes I'm that sad I make sure they learn 'triggers' names
'Wheek wheek' fresh veg
'Go back' stop what you're doing and go back to cage 🤣

Gorgeous girl  Sorry to hear she’s lost the sight in one eye but I’ve found piggies do brilliantly with one eye or lack of sight, my Luigi has cataracts and you wouldn’t know the way he zooms about! She sounds like she’s in for a great future with you after a bit of a rubbish start :)
My RB Sheepy had massive hair (and also cataracts that didn’t really bother him!) that needed trimming every couple of weeks really! I kept it pretty short or it’d get in a mess and he wasn’t great at cleaning his own bum! :)) Hope the grooming guides help and hope the piggies are all settling in well :)

All things considered they have now integrated well.... no fighting, not even any bickering, it's now a heard of 5!! All three are now part of the family and two if them are blind in one eye, and that's why pets at home trusted me with her, thank you for the tips, do you ever bath him?

Hi!

You may find this guide here helpful. With any long-haired breeds, it pays to keep the hairs at the bum end and sides short in order to minimise matting and bad tangles. You will learn where the ideal balance for your piggy is. this will in fact take care of most issues once you know how often and where to cut; and how long or short to keep the hair for the best compromise between looks and a happy piggy life.
An Illustrated Guide to Hair Cutting

I would not bathe too often; it can cause skin issues in the longer term; often a gentle bum bath with baby wawm water is sufficient for messy bum ends. Whole body baths are generally more for any prescribed medicated baths.
