Hi, I'm hoping someone will be able to help me. I discovered lots of lumps and bumps on the underneath of my male guinea pig Popcorn. There all different sizes and doesn't seem to bother him at all. I took him to the vets and they've never seen anything like it, since then the vet has called saying he's consulted other vets and they've never come across it either. So was hoping someone might of had something similar? It's been a month now and they've not changed and he seems normal in himself.

I’m afraid you need an experienced vet to check out your piggy. I’ll link to the vet locator below. What did they suggest to do about the lumps?

Hi, thanks for replying, they didn't suggest anything as they had no idea what they were. He said they weren't cysts or tumours and I suggested maybe he'd been bitten by insects or something but the vet didn't think so. The only thing we could come up with is that it could be an allergy and the only thing I had changed was that he went from being indoors on fleece liners to outdoors on wood shavings.

Changing bedding shouldn’t cause lumps. Were they thought to be abscesses? I think they need to be investigated further than was already done. I would consider getting a second opinion so you know more about what you’re potentially dealing with.

The vet said it wasn't abscesses as popcorn had already had one of these in lockdown last year and I had to take him to the vets every day for a week to drain it and then every other day to get rid of it. Probably caused from neutering 6 months before. My vet has been very good with all my Guinea-pigs and usually solved any problems we've had unlike some other vets I've been to, but I could try one of the 2 on your list that are nearest to me. He never even charged me and had consulted the other 3 practices in the company.
