I've not been active on here for a while too much going on at home so I had to put finding a friend on hold for Curly.
Anyway Curly had a bladder stone removed about 6 months ago and he has started to cry when weeing again so I took him back to the vets for a check up and to discuss neutering.
He has had it noted before by the vet that he is very swollen around his nipples not sore just very swollen. The vet picked up on this again and thinks this maybe more sinister than initially thought they thought at first that it was just fat. She also noticed he has small pea sized lumps under both his arms and that his testicles have shrunk!?. So no to neutering.
I feel like I'm not really sure what happened at the vets I came away with metacam and all clear from any stones but what are these lumps? And why have his testicles shrunk!? I just got told it could be sinister.
I've just had chance to have a Google and I've seen they can be fatty lumps or like a cancer. I have noticed he has started to loose a bit more hair than normal I'm finding little clumps in his house and it's all over our carpets more than his normal malting.
Sorry my post seems abit rambling but this seems like a strange set of symptoms. What do I do?

Are you able to get a second opinion or email the vets to ask them to clarify what their opinion was. Lumps under the arm pit could be indication of infection or lymphoma. Did they mention doing any further tests? What did they think about him crying when weeing? Did his urine show any infection?

She dipped his wee and there was no blood and she seemed happy with the colours on the dipper she used and she did x-ray him and there were no stones. I wonder if that's when she saw the lumps under his arms because when she came back in the room that's when she mentioned them.
She said she thinks he has arthritis in his spine and that's why he's crying and we got metacam.
My head feels really woolly especially with medical things at the moment. My dad passed away unexpectedly while I was with him and I don't seem to be able to organise my thoughts properly. I would usually be all over the vets and this vet is very good and has never steered me wrong. Maybe I'm just not processing what she said, I will give them a call and ask them to read the notes back to me.
What other tests would they be able to do?
Could the reaction be from his surgery months ago would he still be healing from this internally?

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad, that must have been an awful shock for you. It's no wonder your thoughts are all over the place at the moment.

I am not a medical expert and can only relate my experience to you, it does sound similar.
This time last year Brillo had some tiny mammary lumps. The vet thought the lumps were possibly a mass (he also had lumps under his arm). Brillo had an xray which showed the lumps were individual and not a mass. There were lumps through the mammary system from under his chin down to his lower nipples, to remove them would mean a mammary strip, taking out the whole system, a massive operation.
The vet believe these to be fatty lumps.
The xray also showed arthritis in Brillo's spine and knees.
The vet and I agreed the operation was too massive to put him through and we would observe him. Brillo is on daily Metacam and Johnson's 4 joints for the arthritis. The lumps have shrunk slightly the vet thinks due to the anti inflammatory in the Metacam. Brillo also cries when he wees and poops sometimes. The vet explained this was probably down to the way he stands due to the arthritis. Not only can squatting be uncomfortable but not standing in the correct position can mean the calcium can build up in the bladder and become gritty which will give pain when passing. He is only uncomfortable every few weeks not all the time, I can give extra pain killer when this happens. A year on Brillo is still a happy bumbly piggy and now aged 5. His zoomies are just a little slower and his popcorns more shoulder shrugs than jumps!
I hope our story can give you some insight into what maybe going on with Curly. I did get a second opinion with Brillo just to make sure I was doing the right thing by him at the time.
