Lump on guinea pig

Whilst doing the weekly health check, I noticed a lump on my 5 year old boar. The lump was behind his front leg underneath him so on his tummy kind of. It was abiut the size of a large pea. We are going to try and get a vet appointment of course but any ideas what this could be or if it would need surgery? I really hope not due to his age. Sorry that the lump isnt very clear in the photo attached.

Sorry if you have seen 2 posts about this I tried to edit this one to say that he doesn't seem to be in any pain and he has no other symptoms other than this lump but I accidentally posted 2.
