Hi guys. I was cleaning my guinea pigs cage today and noticed one of my boys has a small red lump on his eyelid. His eye is clear, he’s acting normal, in good health despite having a head tilt from an infection a vet wouldn’t believe me about over a year ago now.

I was just wondering if maybe it could be an infection from from his head always being tilted? Or does hay poke do this? I’ve only ever dealt with him getting something in his eye which I could treat myself at home by washing his eye out a few times a day, but this I’m absolutely lost.

Obviously will be making a vet appointment, but my vet only takes care of exotic animals like 2 days a week so it could be a week before I get to see him, providing he’s not fully booked.

any help/advice would be great. He’s my absolute world and I’m just fearing the worst for him.

It’s good you’re getting him booked in and you’ve caught it quickly. As it’s related to eyes, he can be seen by any vet. The treatment is the same for all animals. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
