New to this forum, I've attached an image of what I saw on my guinea piggie a few days ago - this has grown this big since a week and a half ago, I have an appointment with the vets tomorrow afternoon but I'm worried for my piggie 😭
It bleeds when you touch it, it appears to be painful for him but he is eating okay
Anyone else have any idea of what this is before I drive myself into a state of panic 😔

Oh, poor piggy.
It’s good you’ve got an appointment. Let us know how it goes.

I would increase to daily weight checks while this is going on so you can be certain he is eating enough hay. Pain can cause them to reduce their hay intake

I hope he is ok

Aw poor boy 😞 It’s good you have a vet appointment booked. My Elizabeth has a similar sized lump on her hind leg / hip area which blew up in just a couple of weeks. Due to its location, my vet doesn’t want to remove it as it’s firmly attached to muscle and there’s a huge risk she’d loose her leg or worse if he attempts removal. Luckily for her and for us, it’s just a fatty lipoma that gets checked every few months or so and it’s not affecting her mobility and isn’t bothering her. However, it’s clear from your description that your boys lump is painful and I’d be concerned about it bleeding. Hopefully the vet can safely remove it and it’s nothing serious. Please do keep us updated x

I know, it's horrible to see him in pain, and because of where it is, it's affecting his movement and how he sits 😔 I've never seen anything this big on a guinea pig before!

Here is Elizabeth’s lump just to show you that they can grow quite large. If it’s affecting his mobility and he’s in pain, removal may be your best option but that depends on the vets evaluation and findings of what it is

Wow, I didn't realise they could get so big considering how small piggies are!
This is another picture of his lump, it looks so painful bless him x

Yes, they can grow remarkably big in such a small space of time. Bless him, his lump does look sore, it looks like it could have ulcerated 😞 x

Good luck at the vets. I hope it’s something easily treatable. Keep us posted as I’m interested in what it is. 🤞🏻

I’m so sorry. No matter how much we want to save them sometimes the kindest thing is to let them go. Popcorn high over the bridge little one. Take care. ❤️

Oh I am so sorry for such devastating news.
You gave him lots of happy todays and filled his life with love, which is what matters.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve

Thank you! I needed to hear that! We miss him terribly already, we have brought him home and buried him, and he didn't suffer at the end😞 but I'm hoping heaven is a little happier with my smiley piggy up there
