Hi everyone,

Could people please list any low calcium veggies they feed their piggies every day? I currently have:
1. Cucumber
2. Corriander
3. Romanian Lettuce
4. Baby Gem Lettuce
5. Bell Peppers

They eat dill, parsley and curly kale but I try to not give them everyday and I want to 'spice' it up

Section 5 of this guide should help you

Long Term Balanced General And Special Needs Guinea Pig Diets

My boys usually get some of the following daily (basically I use the sample plate as my basis)

A slice of cucumber
Some bell pepper
Spring greens
Romaine lettuce
Coriander

I then pick something off the foods in the link to give them once or twice a week

I need to try spring greens as I haven't. I usually do the list you do (apart from spring greens)

Just be aware that both parsley and curly kale are high in calcium, so if you are trying to restrict calcium in their diet I would limit this to an occasional treat.

I feed pretty much the same as @Piggies&buns but also add celery (the stem not the leaves), green beans and fennel.

They only get two sources of calcium max in a week, but a little. They also like dill, but is that high in calcium?

From my understanding it's not the calcium content but rather the calcium: phosphorus ratio that matters. I don't understand it fully though so follow the long term balanced diet guide with the occasional treat thrown in to mix things up

I avoid kale, Parsley and spinach. These are the devils of high calcium foods for pigs. I would feed kale sometimes, but Dorothy's intertestial cystitis kicks off from it, and she will steal it if I give it to Bernie. So nope.

Daily I feed.

Red and green bell pepper
Coriandor
Tiny bit of parsnip
Cucumber slice ring, fin sliced
Tiny bit of celery, one c shape each

They have never tried celery. They have become funny with peppers like they will eat them, but not finish.

My sow never gets bored of any veg, but my boar bernie leaves bell pepper bits around sometimes, she hoovers it though

You could try giving them Radicchio, it's not a cabbage or a lettuce. It is it's own thing.
