So here's my little sheltie girl 'Lottie', she was born here and has been full of energy, curiosity and bravery since day 1, wondering away from Mum at just a few minutes old. Now she's coming up to 5 months old, and has acquired some rather 'ninja like' skills. I've never had a pig so energetic, athletic, intelligent and just simply awesome. Here's one of her most recent 'tricks'...

She was so fast on those stairs. Does she think there is a giant hay room up there? ;)

Wow, she's incredible. And that answers a question one of my lads asked me this morning while mine we out free-roaming - which is whether piggies can climb stairs. I wasn't sure but the answer is clearly a resounding yes. I wouldn't have believed it until I saw your video.

whether piggies can climb stairs.
I've had three stair climbers - once I had one wrapped in a towel on a bottom step (when he was very young) whilst I was doing something important, like making a cup of tea. I returned to an empty towel and missing pig. He didn't know what to do once he was upstairs and was hiding in a corner. He did like running up the stairs even when he was older

Thank you everyone! I have 8 piggies and they all live upstairs, Lottie was on a mission to get back home to her friends so they didn't eat all the food before her! She will do this ALL day, she doesn't like to go downstairs thankfully as that's too dangerous for my liking, but she loves to go up them, be carried back to the bottom, and then she runs back up again! Guinea Pigs can definitely jump very high and wide, it just depends whether your piggy wants to do it, they are all naturally physically capable of it I believe. I do have another, my eldest sow, she's 1 year 3 months, she loves to jump on top of the hideys which are over 1ft in height, but even my eldest has never attempted the stairs. Lottie should be in the piglympics :D

That video is amazing! Id never have thought a guinea pig could make such light work of stairs. That's chinchilla standard stair climbing!

Wow, fantastic, she makes so short work of them. Piggies sense of where things are (especially their home) is very exacting I find. Love that little furry bum going up
