So, right now I have my guinea pigs in our laundry room. They have a midwest cage set up. The only problem is that our furnace is constanly running, and the washer and dryer are going a lot too. Is this okay? Do guineas do okay with lots of noise?

They shoulda get used to it, I have a dehumidifier that’s quite noisy but they’re used to it

Should be ok.
Mine love to congregate in the kitchen right beside the washing machine and don’t seem to care if it’s running

I wouldn’t worry too much they will adapt, your health is the main thing. Could you partly open a window or leave the door ajar when the heatings on? Depends if your cage is open topped or fully secure though and if you have other pets? They could go outside When the weather gets better in Spring?

I had horrible allergies to the hay so that is why we brought them to the laundry room. Where I live it is very cold so we cant crack a window. The door ajar is a good idea. I'm more worried about noise as there is constant noise.

I really wouldn’t worry about noise, they will have probably already got used to it and they are better inside an out if it’s very cold we’re you live. It’s cold here today too! Sounds like they’ll be nice and snug where they are, they’ll be fine, won’t worry x

I honestly think they will be ok.
On the other thread you’ve started on the same subject, you mention the temperature of the room going up and down. Perhaps you could elaborate a bit more on that - what temperature it is swinging from and to? If it is still within their preferred range then I would think it is ok.

I’m allergic to hay too, but I come out in a rash on my hands. This has only happened since July this year, I don’t why it’s happened so I wear cotton gloves to touch hay if I have to.
