The good news is I finally got some more hay feeders to add to my Guinea pig cage. I can put extra hay in them.
I would suggest doing this when ever you go on vacation. Also leave an extra bowl filled with Guinea pig pellets. And I might suggest cleaning there cage right before you go a trip, so it isn’t dirty when you get home.

We would never recommend leaving extra pellets at any time. Over feeding pellets is not healthy.

Piggies need to be checked on twice a day for various reasons during a holiday so overfilling everything won’t mean they are ok if they are left for an extended period.

I'm also not sure how cleaning the cage before you go away means it is clean when you get back? The copious amount of poop produced within just a few hours means a cage needs spot cleaning once, if not twice, a day.

I would feel so uncomfortable leaving my piggies for a day without anyone checking on them. They could become ill and need help. It’s not just food and water that is the issue.
