Hi, my guinea pig is only 18 weeks old and we introduced him another boar in his cage and they seemed to get on but I've noticed my original guinea pig is losing weight he's lost 100g in 2 weeks could it be stress from the other guinea pig should I separate them he seems to of gone all shy he used to squeak when he heard the bag for his veggies now he doesn't bother, I do have an appointment booked for the vets but I just wanted some advice in the mean time. Thanks

Please step in and syringe feed him (if you aren't already) to stop the weight loss. The guides below contain further information to help

If they have a functioning bond, then no, you do not want to separate them - doing so causes more stress.
Please do tell us more about the dynamics of their relationship, whether they get on, whether there are any clear signs of bullying (boars do tend to be quite upfront if they dont like another piggy) etc

How old is the other piggy?
How big is their cage?
Do you have multiple of every item including multiple hay piles etc?
Do all hides have two exits?
