Hey!

I am desperate for a C and C cage as it will provide much more space for my girls to run around. I have done my research and know exactly what I want. The problem is is where to buy the materials in the UK? Finding the grids and the Corex is proving to be a problem! If anyone knows where the best places are to buy these or what websites that would be a great help :) also, good places to buy fleece would be great too!
Thanks!

Alsogrendle seller on ebay for your grids and connectors. It also included cable ties.

I have got my correx from thealuminiumshop seller on ebay. It's the cheapest 2mm correx I could find and comes in black or white. It comes by courier rolled so you will need to gently roll it the other way to flatten it.

How old are your piggies? And they boars or sows? I ask as boars can get a bit smelly in fleece I find but my boars and I love using fleece I just clean them out every third morning, I think the problem starts when they are left on the same fleece for a week then it gets stinky :)

They are sows and they are 1 year old! :)

Some recommended suppliers of pre-made c&c cages are http://correxcages.weebly.com/ that @kimlou5288 runs or www.candcguineapigcages.co.uk/ we got ours from there

Hi! I've just ordered grids from alsogrendle on eBay. Haven't ordered correx yet- I'm trying a local sign shop first as I need two sizes. How many girls do you have? I've got three sows.

They're gorgeous! Lovely colours. What are their names?

It's taken me AGES to decide on the best type of cage setup, but I've had loads of great advice so have finally ordered it! Can't wait to get it set up!

Aw thank you! yours are very cute too :D Their names are bubble and squeak! Whats yours? I've only had my piggies for just over a week, they came with a pet store cage and it's been okay-ish right now but really need to upgrade and give them more space! I was researching before I got them though! Just waiting for pay day on friday then its getting ordered lol:) I hope it all works out for you and you manage to get it how you want it!

Love the names! I like names that go together. Sadly ours don't, my daughters and I each named our own. Flo (mine) is on the left, Pedro Jamaica (my loony youngest's!) on the right and there's also Clover who isn't on the pic. We've had them since July- they're about 8 months old. We had them outside in a hutch, but that's been in the conservatory since September with a fleece covered run on the floor. I'm a bit scared about scoring the correx! Measuring isn't my best thing ... can see the correx getting smaller and smaller as I have to keep redoing it
Lovely that you're giving them loads of space- expect some major popcorning! Are you enjoying them?

Thank you!

Thanks :D I love those names, they are unique and different! Mine are around 1 year old. I have an outdoor hutch and an indoor cage but decided to keep them inside as its quite cold and it will give them a chance to get used to me! And yeah so am I, i'm useless with that kind of stuff lol! As long as we are careful it should be okay, fingers crossed :)!

And yeah I am enjoying them! They are starting to come out of their shells a bit now and showing their personality! How are you enjoying yours :D?

Aw that's nice. I love how different they are! Flo is really chatty, never shuts up and will always tell me when she's had enough  Ha ha! Clover is really timid and hardly ever makes a noise and Pedro is a big wheeker for food, and the most cuddly. They still don't come to us though.

Yeah mine wont come to me either! Its only been a week though and they are already getting better! Very curious :) mine never shut up either lol!

If you know anyone with a costo co card get them to take a look in your local one as some still have the c&c grids in but not called that in there :)

Called seville storage cubes in Costco if that helps.

@Jen H I scored my correx with an islice from Lakeland. Needed no pressure and made it a bit less stressful than a Stanley knife. I did learn some lessons though for next time - didn't think properly about the "pattern" for the loft area. I only used one sheet though for a 2x5 bottom level and a 2x1 loft!

That sounds like a better idea actually! I will give that a try thanks :D

Haha! See what I mean about my measuring?! I'm actually reasonably intelligent- honest ! - just can't do figures:hb:! How high are your sides then? Maybe I'm allowing too much. How likely is it that they'd shove their heads through? They're quite chunky now 800g+

Good tip about the slice ta!

The sides on the 5x2 base are a decent height - Id say 20cm but I'm rubbish at estimating. My set up is in the main thread of members C&C pics - posted end Aug/beginning Sept if you want to have a look.

The sides on the 1x2 loft are more erm variable as that's where I didn't plan it properly. Still though at least 10cm I'd say at their lowest. The sides which are one piece of correx with the base in the loft are at least 10cm but then I used off cuts from the same single sheet and attached them with bulldog clips to make the sides higher. I think the purpose of higher sides is more to help the piggies feel safe (enclosed rather than exposed) and to keep hay/poops in rather than to stop piggies falling out.

I know for babies you should make the square holes smallerby overlapping grids but you don't need to for more grown piggies.
