Look what I have on my bird feeder!

I've heard him hammering away on an oak tree nearby so I knew he was around somewhere. It took him a few weeks to be brave enough to eat from the bird feeder.
 
Oh wow! That's brilliant. I have heard woodpeckers on one of the local parks a short walk away but never heard them around the garden at all
 
We regularly have woodpeckers here in our garden. Sometimes 3 or 4 of them during spring, the mummy and daddy teaching their babies how to eat from the feeders.

A few years ago, hubby decided to put more bird feeders that stick to the windows (We have a big feeding station in the garden). So we have 3, one with peanuts, one with bird seeds and one with the fat balls. And ever since, the woodpecker comes hammering away most mornings at around 7am or so! Hubby had the nerve to complain about it sometimes when he's the one who wanted the feeders there! 🤦‍♀️ I do wake up at times hearing them but I just go back to sleep. 🤣 Another down side is the window are usually pooped at so there are smudges of them outside. 😂 It's nice to look at the birds eating by the window though. 🤣
 
We get regular visits from them in the garden (especially this late in the winter), I really love their colors.
There's also a green woodpecker in the park nearby, we sometimes see it on the grass (eating ants, I assume).
 
When we lived in North Yorkshire we got the greater and the lesser spotted woodpecker on our feeder. We did live in an ancient woodland so not surprising 😆
