its getting ridiculous now isn't it? I was brought up in SE London and had my mums family from there dads family are also from round there, luckly we moved to Essex in the mid 60s where i grew up met and married had 5 kids then moved away again becasue we could see the change in life to be honest we found Londons problems were dripping into Essex and I wanted some where safe for my kids to grow up, hearing about all this only confirms our decision was right, Mick was a copper so we got to know more then most, would anyone else be prepared to move away especially those in cities, I'm in nice town (sandown) but still crave a more tranquil place to live and hope to move to a village location soon, it worrys me sick for those people stuck in places with gangs around them, sounds like the Bronx doesn't it?

i hate chavs gangstas townies skaters and all other form of people that fall under that category - none of them seem to like piggs, which is probs a good thing

Unfortunatly these little thugs get a slap on the wrist if they misbeahve. And they know it. We need prisons like america have, not home from homes. They are there to be punished, not pampered.
Thats one thing i worry about being a cop. I could arrest someone one day for mugging an old lady, they'll get bailed to return to court(and prob never show anyway) and they then will be laughing in our faces. I love cops, but hate the 'justice' system. There is no justice these days. >:(

there is but the :police: like to lose the papers, :tickedoff: or maybe they need fuel for their fires 98)

No, coppers dont like to lose the papers. Half the time the stupid cps 'dont have enough evidence to prosecute'! The cops are trying their best, it's once things are out of their hands they start to go wrong. Once you know about police and what they do you can comment. Till then dont go making alegations that aren't true.

Cops dont lose the papers ::)

theyre just powerless to do something, its more the government to blame

darkest dreaming i feel I can comment as my hubby was a cop for many years both in Essex and Hampshire/IW so was my brother in Essex many of our friends are coppers as well and I know many of them are leaving or at least counting down the years until they get their pension, its the paper work needed mostly not absolutly necessary to get a conviction they basically have to have all bases covered or they wriggle out of the crime and get away with it, if they employed civilians for paper work and let the police do their work of policing the streets things might change, sometimes you go on duty catch a theif and be in the station the rest of your shift doing the paper work in triplicate, once the police have done thier work it goes downward from then on, I'm not for hanging etc except for child murderers etc and 100% proved murderers, but the prisons should be damn hard, living on the Island we have 3 prisons, Parkhurst was down graded from a high security, come on we live on an Island its not that easy to get off it on a good day :D
we need Judges with balls and The CPS need to change completley, :tickedoff: :tickedoff:, and as for gangs if they are illegals then shove them off the bluddy cliffs they shouldn't be here anyway ( sorry but it makes me mad reading of them killing and maiming and getting away with it) :tickedoff: we knew the day was coming when gangs took over, been saying it for years but did the goverment listen no they did not,
I feel relatively safe here but hate going on the mainland as it doesn't feel as relaxed, we all say that living here, and cops dont papers its the CPS ( Crime prosecution service) :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

Totally agree with all that. O0

we're greedy lol no we have Parkhurst Albany and Camp hill, but amazingly I feel safer living here then away from any prisons, we often see prisoners at the hospital with guards and my friend is a dental nurse so does the prisons sod them let them rot in their mouths ( serious crims I'm on about here), :tickedoff:

Swap Sandown for Reading?! Hope to move back South one day, been here too long.

never ever I love the Island and find going on the mainland a bit daunting, where abouts south are you from Karen?

Just outside Bournemouth in a village called Longham, between Ferndown and Kinson... Mum still lives in the house I lived in from 10 months old- so many memories.

get back here pronto we could do with a GP rescue more local, lol a village ahhhh lucky mum my dream ^-^

Very sad, we too have problems. It seems to be racial i wish they'd all remember we're all just the same as the person standing next too you.
We've many friends still in the force and they're totally peed off with our system too. Politicians are causing havoc and doing deals behind our Commissioners back.
So agree that the Judges don't put harsh enough sentences honestly you can commit a murder and await trial and be out within a short period of time, that's justice? Feel very sorry for the victims families, must be so frustrating.
