Does anyone have any ideas/photos please? Have extended c and c to a 3x5 and not decided what loft to have, thinking of 1x2 if pos. Thanks.

Mines 5 x 3, I put the loft 2 grids wide across the back when I had 2 young boars fall out, it gave me a 2 x 3 and 3 x 3. Having the hay in a loft made the 2 x 3 a bit less cramped. When I opened the cage up again for a pair I left the loft in case of further fall outs as it's easy to pop another 2 grids in to split the cage.

I read that at first as the two boars fell out the loft! Thanks for posting, that's fantastic. I didn't think about putting it that way round. Is it just supported by grids at either side or is there a central support?
So handy to be able to put a grid between fighting piggies.

I've got a question too. i'm in the process of setting up a c& c but am wondering how to cover the correx sides. I've bought washable pee pads and a fleece but if i only cover the base my piggies will chew the correx. Any suggestions on how I could cover the sides? I draped the fleece up the sides and it looks hideous! lol

From my experience most piggies aren’t huge chewers on anything besides hay and cardboard. Unless your piggy is particularly bored it shouldn’t be much of an issue :)

My girls don't chew the correx around the edges, but they took a liking to the edges of the ramp, as I guess it was more accessable. I have slipped old hard plastic binder edges/spine bars on to the edges now, and they don't bother with them any more. :-)

If you post a thread in housing with your question in the title, then people can see your question better and hopefully you'd get more replies.

I have fleece cut to size for mine, so we have four pieces of fleece which are the same size as each side of the cage. Like this (forgive the mess, it’s cage sweeping time):

We generally leave the sides around two weeks before giving them a wash and changing to our other set. I wish I had pigs who wouldn’t chew it, but if you can see any bare correx in the cage, the pigs are already chewing it lol.

Is the loft 3 grids wide without any supports? Hoping to build today 😊

I've ordered a bobbly bathmat to go under loft as that looks great.

Why is Rex special care?

He came in to rescue in really poor condition. He had untreated impaction which had caused him to self harm where he was in so much pain. He was extremly underweight and his nails were so bad he could barely walk. He's on the mend though will need ongoing help with his impaction issues for the remainder of his life.

It's a piece of vet bed cut to size on the ramp which is made from bent grids. I cover the edges of the corex with file binders to stop them
chewing it. The loft is supported by a grid, it's only 2 grids wide.

Ah that's vet bed! Will add to my shopping list. I thought vet bed was a grey green flattish stuff. Many thanks.

So glad Rex has landed on his feet now in his palace after the start to life he had.

You can get vetbed in lots of colours and patterns now. I usually get it on ebay as you can often pick up off cuts. I use it where they tend to lie the most especially for my older boars.
