Loft Extension Question

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I'm looking into making a loft for my boys 2x4 cage. I was just going to use the connectors that came with my storage system, but they don't look like they'll fit...if I'm making any sense.

I'm just wondering how you guys with lofts attached them to your cages, or is it just a case of connectors and cable ties? Will those be enough to support the correx?
 
Have you looked at this thread - there are lots of ideas here for supporting structures etc.

I love some of the things the forum members have done to bespoke their cages. I got my C&C cage supplied with pre cut correx and was told that a 2x4 cage would support a 2x1 loft. My guinea pigs never got the hang of the ladder so I soon decommissioned it .

When I had another go with putting a loft in - I made them 1/2 height.

There is lots of info in this thread including pictures of Max in his "tree house"

I hope this gives you some useful info.
