I got a bale today in the horse shop for my hamsters actually but I picked these ones because the bag said dust free, apparently they are the lowest dust shavings on the market so I thought id share that here for you users of shavings. My hamsters get any old bedding I feel like depending on budget ... budget is low for now. i didnt go for the budget shavigns though

I paid #7.50 for 20kg today.

for price comparison pets at home shavings are 9.49 for 11.5kg so any shavings users should try a horse supplier :-)

Pets At Home are always MUCH dearer than anywhere else, imo.

I think that but it was just a comparison to a normal pet store type pricing and pets at home site had a weight on their shavings rather than just large for example :-) This bale is enormous ... it fills the back seat of my car and would not fit in the boot!

I dont use pets at home anymore, I have done in the past though.

I pay about the same for Mendip first grade dust extracted shavings...they're fantastic, wouldn't use anything else ever.

They didnt have them ones in stock .. I just went for the premium ones that said dust free and that was these ... the packet looks pretty non dusty but that means nothing until I get it open :-)

i am opening it tonight for a hammy so ill report back!

Littlemax are the smaller version of Bedmax, bedmax are quite rough so for this reason I have never tried Littlemax, be interested to see what they are like Bekki!

This is what they look like , quite long pieces but very thin. Loads bigger than the really tiny bits that bob martin shavings are. No more rough though I dont think.
