Hello all,

I don't know if anyone else has tried this, but I've discovered that those disposable puppy training pads are brilliant for keeping your lap dry during extended periods of pig cuddling.

I enjoy having the boys on my lap to snuggle, sing and often drift off to sleep. Celyn usually will let me know when he wants the loo, but sometimes he's not that quick and other times, I don't really want to disrupt Griff if he's happily snuggling by getting up.

So, I've always used either a couple layers of towels or a newspaper with a towel over it, just in case of accidents. However, it's pretty common for leaks to get through, which isn't great.

I found that Home Bargains sells 8 disposable puppy training pads for £1.50 and B & G Bargains does something similar - pack of 14 for £3.00. They are a bit like incontinence sheets used in hospital, but smaller. They are soft to touch, absorbent and have a plastic backing to keep your lap try. So long as piggies are supervised and prevented from chewing, they are perfect for the purpose.

Does anyone else use them?

Does anyone else wish there were such a thing as nappies / diapers for guinea pigs? :))

Good idea - especially with young piggies as well.

Thank you! I will def try to order some. Sounds like a good idea for my youngins'

I use them all the time! They work great! I also have used them to line the bottom of thier play pen since I don't really have anywhere to let them run around that isn't carpeted! (and pee on carpet is just no fun!) They work out great. Just need to keep an eye on them since they tend to like to nibble and dig at them.

thats a good idea Mac likes to have a sly wee on peoples lap, preferably making it look like you actually wee-d yourself!i use the puppy pads under fleece (£1 for 5 in poundland) so thats a good idea about using them on your lap

Ha ha, love the idea of a piggie trying to make it look like the human had the accident! :))

I've also used them sometimes in their travel bag (they've got two - those soft-sided / fabric carriers designed for small cats and dogs are perfect for travel,) under a newspaper, but always well-wrapped in a towel. Little Griff especially has a thing about chewing so I don't let them sit on a puppy pad unsupervised.
