I haven't been on here for quite a while and in that time I have lost a couple of my elderly boys and have hot a couple of new girls so I wanted to introduce you.
This is Luna she is a lethal guinea pig, I rescued her from a pet store who told me she was 16 weeks old and there wasn't anything wrong with her eyes after me watching her walk into things. I took her home and quickly realised she was deaf too so I took her to the vet the next day and over the next couple of days I saw a specialist exotic vet who informed me that she was completely blind with detached retinas and completely blind, she also said she was about 6 weeks old but that was pushing it. One of the vet nurses even said she thought she was a syrian hamster at first glance because she was so small.
I have had her just over 3 months now and she is doing really well She now has a friend called Willlow who is brilliant with her.
The first photo is the day after I brought her home and the second is drom a few days ago x20170801_210049-1.webp 20170924_201617-1.webp

So pleased she has found a wonderful forever home with you!

The difference since she has been living with you os amazing. She is !ovely.

I keep everything in the same place so she has a mental map
I used to do the same with our lethal piggies, but after a while I thought, maybe it gets a bit boring for them to have things in the same place all the time, so started to move things around and they soon suss it out and don't seem at all worried by things being in different places.

She's a beautiful girl

Thank you :-) I have started added things when she is out playing and she is doing well that

She's lovely and very lucky. Makes me shudder to think of where she could've ended up. Have you informed the seller of her condition so they can understand the needs of such a pig?

It's lovely that you took her in. Pet shops will tell you anything just to get a sale! It really annoys me! I have been imagining all sorts of fates for her. She could have been a "5 minute wonder" pet for a little kid and when they realised she had special needs well ........ Doesn't even bare thinking about! She is so lucky that she has ended up with you and experienced piggie slave who can look after her properly and love her. She already is happy that she has a friend.
