Litter Trays

What do people use as a litter tray for their guinea pigs? My previous sows would poop anywhere, but my new boys have a favourite corner, and I 'd like to encourage them.

Welcome to the forum.

People use all sorts of things as litter trays - such as cat litter trays - and there are quite a few corner trays on the market.

I use litter trays as my guinea pigs love hopping in and out of them. They are best placed under hay racks etc as guinea pigs tend to pee and poo more when eating. However, be warned ! - guinea pigs still pee and poo everywhere !

I use cat litter trays and put aubiose then hay in them.They love it and dive headfirst into it

Try to encourage them, but beware... it might seem like they'll stick with it, but guinea pigs are just unpredictable like that! You could use cat litter trays, a lot of things.

My piggies seem to tip over anything I put in! They do it all in one place though so it's still easy enough to do a quick clean even without a tray.

Contrary to what everyone else seems to find, my piggies don't seem to poop at all near their hay or food! They do it all in a corner which is near nothing else

I've just started to try this out (second week) as the corner under their hay was so soiled as they pulled the hay out of their rack and used it for a toilet and i was having to clean it out constantly but this is much easier as i just take the tray out every other day and clean it, i bought some corner litter trays with paper pellets in, they do use the trays much more than i thought but they also go everywhere else, i do think there's less dropping in the rest of the cage but i'm not sure if i am imagining it! you could give it a try..

I use this one with shavings and/or hay in the bottom. They don't half argue about who gets to lie in it so I think i'll have to get at least one more!

garden potting trays are good as they're big and have one low edge

I use cat litter trays. And I have a corner litter tray. My piggies seem to do a lot of peeing in them however they still pee occasionally on their fleece. When it's time to replace the cat litter trays I will be trying a potting tray.
