Litter Trays For Hay?

Hi all! I'm thinking about upgrading the litter tray in the Piggies cage. Atm they have a small litter tray, the main reason I bought it was because the sides were small enough that I knew they'd have no trouble getting in & out of it. Only problem is, they can drag the hay everywhere >.< Can anyone recommend a larger tray that the pigs can get in & out of ok? I've been looking at the ones on PaH website & Fetch from Ocado, but the bigger the cage, the higher the sides! I'm not sure if I'm just underestimating how well piggies can jump/climb! Hmm.. Thank you in advance! xx
 
I use a small litter tray for a hay tray, but my Thor-pig can jump on top of the hideys made from large wooden play-sticks - about 30cm up - with no trouble! If the sides are very high you could try making a bridge from play-sticks?
 
Ooh, I didn't even think about using playsticks as a bridge! I hope they'd use it :/ Funny pigs! Thor-pig sounds like a right explorer! I tried giving my girls a second level before moving them to their C&C & they wouldn't use the ramp, it was rather steep though :( xx
 
I think Thor is a bit of a wierdo to be honest :)) But a little bridge should be fairly easy for them to negotiate, as there would be a lot of grip too :)
 
I bought a cheap car liltter tray from pets at home a few month ago. It looked like it had high sides so I was worried my piggies couldnt get over it, but they've had no trouble at all. One of my piggies actually sits ontop of her pigloo instead of in it so I was assured there would be no problems lol. I'm sure getting one with slightly higher sides wont make too much of a difference if this helps :)
 
Fab idea of using a potting tray. Wouldn't have thought about that. When I have to replace my boys litter trays I will get a potting tray. I just use cat litter trays. And the piggies do make a mess with their hay. But I just figured I had messy piggies. Lol.
