just setting up my cage for my piggies, I got this corner medium tray from Amazon but it seems massive (I'll have two piggies). Any suggestions and also what do you put in it? Hay? The rest of their flooring is fleece.

Most people will put a substrate on the bottom (absorbent disposable bedding or newspaper) of a litter tray and then hay on top.
The piggies will sit in the tray to eat their hay so it will catch lots of poops and wee, and make cleaning the rest of the cage a little easier.
The corner trays do look huge, but they aren't actually a great shape for a full grown piggie to rummage about in.
We have had a lot of success with large plastic boxes from the DIY store.

Mine use cat litter trays with fitch at the bottom to soak up the urine and lots of hay on top, they do most of their pees and poos in there. I think if mine had the corner trays they wouldn't put there back legs in and would end up peeing and pooing on the fleece.

Yes I've noticed on some photos people just out a simple small low lidded plastic box with hay in. And are they ok to share it? I've got 2 of most things (water bottle, food bowl for fresh veggies, snuggle sacks)

I use 1 cat litter tray between 2 piggies. I put a folded up towel on the bottom (1 bath towel cut in thirds, so 1/3 of a towel folded in half and half again), then I put hay on top. They can and do both fit in it together, but mostly one jumps in and the other stands next to it (if they both want hay at the same time). Otherwise they take turns, one at a time. Majority of poops and wees are done in there - the towel is wet after a day, and soaked after a day and a half (I try to change it every 24 hours, but in all honesty this often stretches to 36 hours). They tend to spread hay over the wet patches themselves so they're never left standing on wet towelling. They also tend to mostly wee and poo in one corner of the litter box so the hay in the rest of the box is still good to eat.

So are cat litter trays the best one to get then? I was just wondering about them being able to hop over the lip!

all of mine from the littlest and youngest to the oldest and biggest manage no problem

Useful thread. The litter trays are a good size. Two of my hamsters have them as sand baths!
