you may know from my other posts my guinea pigs poo at the speed of light i was thinking of making myself a litter tray for them i know what to put in it... but what do i make it out of... i really dont wanna buy one from the store because at my pet shop they have the worst one you could buy. so here are some ideas i thought i could make it of:

Nike shoebox

Tuppaware box (if they dont chew it!)

cardboard.

any other ideas would be great and also i dont know if any of these things are poisonous so come on guys help me out :)

You don't want anything cardboard or wood as they will poop and wee in it.

Go for a Big tupperwear one or something similar.

Mine are made from correx...

Yeah i forgot to factor that first point in! Thanks for the tip on that.

hey you i went into wilkison and bought a gravel tray its quiet big i think they do a propagator lid that goes on it? i just bought the black tray wasnt expensive its very thick plastic so mine have not bothered chewing it. i line it with newpaper and cheap hay then add food bowls and timothy hay stacked between the two food bowls to keep it from getting scattered i put the tray in the prefered poopy corner and bobs you uncle i rarely get any pees anywhere else in the cage they do a good 95% (maybe more) of the poops in there too! clever girls mine! i think because they do more of there business whilst eating it would be the reason why ;) hth

tnx

hey thanks everyone next time i go to my pet store I'm going to look at the CAT litter trays, their guinea pig ones... nahhh lol so pets at home it is.:)):))

I use cat litter trays from P@H. They were in their smart price range or whatever it is called & cost £3 each - I have all different colours as well; pink, purple, red. They are a good size, nice and sturdy and they haven't been tipped over which was my fear. I use megazorb & hay in mine & they spend all their time in them, eating, peeing & pooing

I got a couple of cat litter trays for mine - £1.50 each from local horse/stable supplier - I put paper, readigrass and hay in them and they love to munch and poop/pee in them.
