I bought a beautiful dress and didnt realise that it doesnt have lining.
(and have now found a similar dress with lining for the same price grrrr)

Anyway I wondered if it is possible for a seamstress to put a lining into it even after the dress is finished?
Its just that the dress has very wide sleeves, medieval style, and you can see the seam on the inside of the sleeve :( So I would really like some sort of lining in the sleeves and in the hood of the dress.

And I have no clue if something like that has to be done when the dress is just being made, or if it can be added afterwards aswell?

I think I read somewhere on here that someone is actually doing dresses for a living?

Please tell me! Help!

Because if it isnt possible, I will have to buy a new dress for the wedding :(

My mum says (used to do that sort of stuff) that if you find a good seamstress they should be able to put one in for you :)

;D

So I got two completely different opinions now - one is, its easy to do and shouldnt be a problem, the other is, you have to take the sleeves off the dress and open them and sew them back on and it can be quite expensive.

Oh dear.

I suppose my best bet is to go to the local seamstress and have her have a look at it and give me a rough price idea. If its too expensive I am just going to buy a new dress I suppose!

try the older ladies as opposed to younger ones, they are more honest in my opinion.
