My piggies have big plastic hay boxes with entry holes cut in, which they love! I'm currently putting a disposable puppy pad on the bottom, with a layer of wood shavings then loads of hay. The rest of my cage is disposable puppy pads, which last ages, and fleece or bath mats on top.

I'm wondering if there is anything washable I can use to line the plastic tub instead of disposable items. I imagine fleece pee pads would slide around and be fun to hide under and wee! The wood shavings go into our garden waste bin, but I'd like to be less wasteful if possible, especially with the disposable puppy pads. Any suggestions?

You could get washable pads. There are some incontinence pads I bought on Amazon which were really good. I used them in the hay trays when they still lived indoors.

The other alternative is fleece pee pads. Hopefully they wouldn’t burrow underneath. Or you could make them/have them made so you can hook them over the side. They wouldn’t be able to burrow under then.
