Sorry me again! (Clearly a newbie). I have my c&c cage now and desperate to make liners but am stuck! Can anyone tell me the best place to source all I need to make them? I live in the uk. My cage is a 4x2 with loft and ramp and am thinking I need a couple of sets so when I wash one I have another to put down. Any help and advice would be fab or if anyone knows of someone who makes them I’ll happily pay!

Many of the members here have used mattress pads successfully with fleece. I looked in the beginning at lots of different 'piggie blankets' and fleece liners even here in the US but they were so expensive.

One thing I wanted to put in here is that while we love the designs and everything in creating a cage, our piggies don't care how perfect they are or how pretty they turn out :-). They only care that they are comfortable. Have fun with creating and what can be easiest for cleaning but do what's best for you and your needs. These things can become very expensive if you go beyond watching for clearance and sale fabric, etc. I used puppy pads for quite awhile under just a bunch of out of season fleece blankets I picked up for about $2. It was simple but effective and did the job.

I haven't found yet the liners we use a lot here as pads but have seen many people in the UK simply add the mattress pads. Congrats on the new cage-would love to see pics of the babies enjoying it when you are ready! There can be others there in your area that can maybe help out with other ideas but these are the ones I've seen on this forum thus far.

Diy Tutorials For Making Fleece Liners, Hay Bags And Cosies
This is a useful thread.
I made my liners with a double layer of padded mattress cover (must be cotton) sandwiched between two pieces of fleece. I have used cheap fleece blankets from B&M, I have also bought fleece by the several metres from ebay. The matress covers come from The Range or B&M.

Ahh thankyou we have a b&m near us so will go and look! How often do you change them?

It depends on the time of year. In the winter every 3 or 4 days, in the summer when they are outside for most of the day weather permitting it can be once a week.

IKEA also do a good range of fleeces and mattress protectors really cheaply. Another great source for fleece is charity shops. An advantage of them is that they've usually been washed a good few times, and are wick'd and shrunk, so I just wash them once to remove any fabric conditioner. Good luck.
