I sware, these piggies are going to be the death of me.
So after the issue with Neo's eye just after christmas, my vet fund had just about recovered... now Neo has a limp, and is hesitent to put his right foot down...
No evidence of injury or fighting.

The vets dont have any appointemnts left for today, so I've got to phone up in the morning...
The good news is he's still eating and drinking happily. So i'm not too worried..

At least i know he takes metacam well... poor boy, he's determind to stress me out lol

So I've just had a friend with more experience take a look.

Apparently the back right leg is slightly swollen... better eyes than me...

Probably nothing serious, but getting him checked at the vets tomorrow since he won't put any weight on it. He's still flying round the cage and seems to be eating OK (enjoying veg and a peaflake as I write this)

I'm going to get him out for veg time while the legs bad though. Just to stop any bullying over food while he's not 100%

Hopefully it’ll just be a sprain and nothing more. Could you hand feed the veg rather than taking him out the cage?

Hopefully. He's not had a fall or anything like that, and theres nothing tall in the cage he could have hurt himself jumping off. So probably just a sprain.
I'll try hand feeding the veg, he's never been a big one for hand feeding though.

Is there still some resistance/push back when you gently push against the sole of the foot? This means that nothing major is broken and that it is like just a bad sprain or twist.

All the best!

Just checked, and theres the same amount of resistance when i push against the bad foot as his good foot. so I dont think anythings broken. I think he's just twisted or sprained it. Still going to try and get a vet appointemnt tomorrow to get pain relief for him

Good morning. So the limp is less pronounced this morning. and neo took his morning veg fine. BUT he's very nippy this morning. which to me is a sure sign he's uncomfortable. SO vet is booked for 10am and we'll see what happens
