licking.... & weeing!

Hi All, just wanted your thoughts on 2 weird things I've noticed my pigs do!

Licking me - both of them do this but poppy more than dora, when I have them out for cuddles (usually in the evenings when I'm lounging) they both lick my fingers - poppy would do it forever if you let her!

Weeing at each other (gross!) - sometimes when dora sniffs poppy's bum or nudges her back end, poppy literally points her bum in the air and wee's (just like a little squirt) in dora's face! poor petal!

Dindy loves to lick, fingers , arms and even my lips when she's up close.
As for weeing, she's a loner so it's me that gets wee'd on.

Mine wee on each other sometimes, it upsets me more than it bothers them. Poppy is just telling Dora to back off! I'm sure the licking of human skin is because of the salts on our skin tasting lovely to them

they lick because they like the salt on your skin! weeing LOL not sure but perhaps marking their territory poor thing tho!

I suspected the licking was due to salt on human skin, our dog zak likes licking sweaty feet for the same reason. TOTALLY gross and I just can't bear it!

The weeing is also really gross, stinky little Poppy! Poor Dora get's such a shock! Now and then I see her nudge, Poppy sticks her bum in the air and Dora makes a hasty retreat!

the licking is because they like the salty taste of our skin, our girls do it! i think thats the reason why piggies nibble too. i think the weeing is to tell other piggies to leave them alone, one of our girls minnie (RIP baby x) used to try to "play piggyback" with misty so misty weed in her face!

The shooting of,usually hot urine, is a defence mechanism. Normally sows do to this to boars when the boar gets a bit too frisky.

Mirtle (RIP) did this to me once when I went to pick her up. SHe didn't want to leave her pen. LOL
