Ok, this is going to sound pretty discusting but I have noticed that Eliza keeps on licking and sniffing Connies bottom :( Does anyone know why this could be and also, is there anything I can do to stop it? I have noticed Connie squeaking a little when going to the toilet and I am wondering if Eliza's licking could be making her sore :( I am pretty sure that Connie does not have any infections as her urine was tested and spinned down on Friday and nothing unusual was found x

oh mine are allways licking each others bums both boys and girl but mostly the boys

Sometimes they do that just to nick a nice poo to digest ... sounds horrible, but it happens! :{

Otherwise, it could just be a sniff around that area if the other sow is fertile.

However, if the sow looks sore around her bottom area, perhaps a visit to the vet in case of infection would be worth it.

They do this to get nutrients from the other piggies 'leftovers'. =]

Charming.

Sweetie if ever you have a sick piggie, the other piggies poops are really good for the sick one to digest, my vet told me this one time :)
Just a bit of info for you xx>>>

I was told this too. He told me to crush some poohs up and mix them in a mashed up Banana for the sick puiggie to eat!

I have a chronic problem with Jasmine eating Dexter's poops at the moment, direct from his bum. She bugs him to the point where he nips her repeatedly and she still won't leave him alone. 'Tis baffling. :))

how nice lol! when our dog was a puppy he used to eat our guineas poos! x

I have found sometimes a bath can help the constant sniffers, especially with my long hairs, as they are attracted to their bum smells :o

See if that helps, other than that, I think its pretty natural piggie behaviour.
