Hello! I have two male guinea pigs, they’re both a bit skittish but one more than the other. Today I put my hand in the cage to see if they’d come out and socialize for a while and the one who’s more skittish came out and sniffed my hand. He started to lightly nibble on my fingers and decided to walk up into my hand, and when he got off, he was nibbling and licking my fingers. Is this normal?

That sounds completely normal and awesome that he even licked your fingers! I suggest incorporating some treats to make it an even better experience for them! But yes, it sounds like they are getting used to your presence :D

Yes, that is normal. Guinea pigs explore the world by nibbling. Your fingers must have had an interesting scent/taste on them. ;)

Licking is also a sign of affection. Guinea pigs lick the eye area as the equivalent of a piggy kiss, for instance. You can stroke a piggy gently in that are to convey your affection in piggy language.
