Lice

Hi there,

I am new to this forum. My name is Ana and I am (or better my children are) a proud owner of two guinae pigs, Sky (9 weeks old) and Chip (11 weeks old). Today we realised that Chip has lice, white worms running around his head . I am hoping you can help me with this. What should I do? Is Xeno 50 Ivermectin spot on a good thing to apply on them? They are still babies... shall I bath them with a shampoo and which one? Thank you

I would pop them to a vet for a health check (it's also important to check that the lice aren't a secondary infection due to a lowered immune system from another illness) and to ensure that whatever product you use is an appropriate strength to ensure you get rid of the lice completely

At such a young age it is important you receive an accurate diagnosis and are given correct treatment from a vet.
