Hi, so I just bought 3 females. After getting them home we saw that they had a mite infestation. One of the females seemed to be pregnant but she didn't look too far along maybe 6 or 7 weeks along. So we went out and bought some lice and mite treatment. We woke up this morning with two beautiful babies. But can we treat all 4 of our piggies and the 2 babies? Please help!
I have bought Aristopet mite and lice spray for small animals. I live in Australia BTW.

Please have them seen by a vet for diagnosis and treatment and don’t home treat on spec with low dosed pet shop products. They generally do not cure it and instead only temporarily suppress, allowing for them to take back off again.
Lice are pale crawling creatures which are visible.
Mites are not visible but you can only see their evidence.

You will need to get a proper prescription treatment to treat the issue effectively right from the beginning, and to know how to treat the babies safely

Please have them seen by a vet. Most products should not be used on pregnant or nursing mothers. Usually you have to balance the potential harm against the benefits and only a vet can help with that, and then you will need the correct dosage for babies and young mums. Definitely do not treat with anything before you have seen a vet.

Hi

I fully agree with @VickiA .
Please check with your vet and do not use low-dosed pet shop products on spec; they won't get on top of any parasites permanently and are ultimately a waste of money if you have to see a vet anyway with a much more advanced case.

Ivermectin is not ideal for babies (possible development issues), so please see a vet who can weigh up the need to treat against the benefit of waiting a bit longer in your individual case - it is a weighing up of the severity of the parasitic infestation against how long you can afford to wait until the babies have switched to a mainly solid diet by the end of week two. It is something we cannot do for you without access to your piggy.
