I finally got the courage to get the boys back outside at the weekend - they have been in all winter but with the weather improving I thought it was time to let them out for a bit - so I got the hutch out the shed and set up the run, and the boys are loving it! They are coming back in at night until their shed is ready for them again, but from around 11-6 they are outside - they have their fleece liners in the main area and tons of hay in the hutch so they are totally soiled!
Its so funny, because they were in with me all winter I really considered never having them back out except for grass time, but they are loving it so much I think during the warmer months they will live outside and then in the big shed again at night.
There is so little sunshine in my kitchen - tons of light but its in the shade, that I think they are much happier and its great watching them popcorning more and sitting up sniffing and listening to birds - and when the kids are out they love the attention and enjoy nosing at everything going on in the garden.
So, even though it was probably worse than sending my kids to school on their first day at least I still see them out the kitchen window (they are right beside it) and now I am taking all my tea breaks out there, so more fresh air and sun for me too.
