Last night he suddenly started moving very little. I thought it was fine and my dad also told me that he was running around during the night. But when I came to his cage this morning, he hadn't eaten any of the food I left for him last night. Also, there's usually stool and urine everywhere in his cage in the morning, but there was barely any today.

He won't move AT ALL, and has been staying in the exact same place all day today. Luckily, if I put food near him, he will eat it, though less than he usually does. He is also able to eat hay and veggies. His stools have also gotten a little small because he couldn't eat very much. For now, I am syringe feeding him critical care and water but he keeps refusing to eat much.

Could this be related to some "hooting" noises that my guinea pig has been making?

I couldn't get a vet appointment today, but should be able to tomorrow, but would there be anything else I should do for him? Please help, I recently lost two of my piggies and I'm too scared to lose my piggie again.

I’m sorry to hear this.

Please ensure you switch from the routine weekly weight checks and instead weigh him every day so you can monitor more closely the amount of hay and syringe feed he is getting. Any significant weight loss, and he will need more syringe feed.

He definitely does need to see a vet so do keep trying.

I hope he is ok

Okay, thank you!
Also, do you happen to know if I could possibly feed him a small amount of pain killer medicine that I received from the vet last time if he seems to be in pain?

It’s always better to see a vet before you medicate. Self-medicating (even with something that’s been prescribed them previously) is still not a good idea. Hope they can figure out what is wrong with your boy.

Please take him to the vet as soon as you can. I suggest syringe feeding him. (Don't forget to elevate the head) I hope he gets better. <3

Did you manage to get a vet appointment?

Aw bless him. He doesn’t sound well :( I hope you can get him a vet appointment today. Please keep us updated x
Thank you! and sorry for the late reply...

I took him to the emergency vet the next day. I didn't expect them to be a good guinea pig vet, but they were even worse then I'd thought... When I went to pick him up afterwards, I was so shocked to see him.

He was much more lethargic than when I first took him to the vet. He had a lot of tear marks near his eye and wasn't responding at all. He even developed bloat which he didn't have before, and his body just drooped and I seriously thought I'd lost him.
When I questioned the vet, they said they would look at him again (which they should've already done?) and then suddenly started to say that he became blind and had neurological problems.
I was so angry and sorry for my guinea pig so I just left and wasted $700.

After coming home, I found him shivering and his eyes from wide from fear. He wasn't like that at other vets so I can't even imagine what they did to him to make him like that. I calmed him down, syringe fed him, and let him sleep next to a heater. He also took some gas relief and pain meds that I had at home, and now he's way better.

But... just today I found that he has bladder sludge and hematuria;; I really wonder why he keeps being so sick recently TT

OUCH!

I would seriously consider officially complaining to the clinic and asking for the money back. At that price, the kind of treatment he must have received is not on. I am so, so sorry for you. :(

Glad that your boy is still there and hanging on in there.

I’m so sorry your piggy is still poorly. You would think that all vets would be caring and considerate. Even if they are not specialists. I hope he perks up soon. Are there any other vets you could try?
