Tomorrow is remeberance day here in the UK. This year marks 100 years since the first world war ended. Here at 'The House Of Guinea Pigs' we will be remembering all the people and animals across the world who have lost their lives in war and hope that one day the world will be in peace. Red for those who's lives have been lost, purple for the animals who gave their all, white for peace.

I love it! Monday is Veterans Day in the US, my dad was in the army and I have a close friend who sadly took his own life after suffering from PTSD from his time in service. I have been in contact with our local veterans hospital to see if I can bring Rapunzel in for a visit this week, my dad might come along for that one.

Sorry for the loss of your friend @HeatherRose
Thank you, he died a year ago and it was really hard on everyone. He was my first kiss when I was 14, so I’ll always have a special place for him in my heart. He was also an animal lover, he was an officer and worked on several animal cruelty cases.

I always think of both my grandads who fought in WW1. Both survived, but one lost his leg from shell shrapnel and the other was shot in the head. He had a depression in the top of his head which was useful for putting sweets in, when I sat on his knee, which I found very funny as a small child. Both lived to a ripe old age of 88 and 79 respectively x

Taken this morning in one of the villages.
Sorry about my shadow.
Thanks for starting this thread @Flutterby .

Has anyone read or listened to the Voices of the Armistice?
They are so powerful and moving.
You can find them via the Imperial War Musem website
