During floor time tonight I have noticed Hamish doing what can only be described as cocking his back leg at Dougal & Squirting him. :red Dougal doesn't seem bothered by this, funnily enough.

There is always a fair bit of rumblestrutting going on but it seems good natured enough. They do challenge each other & I think Hamish who is a little skinny pig and younger, is trying to assert his dominance over Dougal who is bigger, hairier and older.

They do that rumbling noise and follow each other, nose to tail. It's quite comical to watch.

Just wondered if anyone elses boars do the leg cocking thing and should I be worried? :{

I saw this from my older & bigger boar Peanut when trying to introduce him to baby Pip. Poor Pip got a bit wet! It's a dominance thing but maybe one step up from a bit of rumbling. I was a bit worried for Pip that he was going to get Peanut's foot in his face when Peanut was kicking at him as he squirted wee as they have pretty sharp claws. It did settle down after a bit but I would keep an eye on it if I were you in case it's the beginning of a more aggressive time for your pair.

Thanks. I will keep a close eye on them. They did stop and it didn't escalate and they're fine now they're back in their cage. It's possible Hamish is getting hormonal. He's almost 7 months old.

I've seen my sows spray in each others face, normally it is when they don't want to be the centre of a girl in seasons affections ;)
