Hello people :)
My piggies water bottles have started to leak stupidly to where there is no water left in them.
I’ve had the usual plastic red top ones and only one had started to leak so I went and bought them a new glass one which they have only had Around 2 weeks at most and that’s just emptying itself.
(They seem to prefer the glass one most)
The photo is the most recent one they have.
Any recommendations of good bottles that hopefully won’t leak or not as much
Thankyou.

Are you sure that the bottles are actually leaking or do you have a piggy who likes to drain them?
Is the bedding directly underneath the bottles soaking wet, or could one of your pigs actually be drinking a huge amount of water?

I have had leaky plastic bottles, but never glass (other than a few drops immediately after filling).
But we did have a guinea pig (Oreo) who was a devil for emptying bottles. She would sit next to it, fill her mouth with water and then let it dribble out.

In the end the only thing that stopped this was a Sippy bottle.

I don't know what kind of cage you have or how you are attaching the bottles but I found if they are not in a very upright position they do leak. For my plastic red top bottles I bought some extra wire holders and springs on ebay (like to ones that come with the glass bottles) they stopped dripping then. I used to put the glass ones on the outside of my commercial cage as they were easier to get at for me but they dripped so they are now in the holders inside the cage and are fine. The glass bottles have a guarantee so if you have a faulty one I would return it to the shop. I do occasionally have a problem with the glass ones in Spike and Peanut's cage as one or both of them spit nugget mush up the spout which messes up the valve.

I have 8 glass and plastic water bottles for my 8 pets. All of my 8 pets live inseperate cages, my guinea pigs Finn and Lara for obvious reasons, and my 6 hamsters all in their separate cages.

I find that I have to sometimes discard old bottles and buy new ones. I test to see if adequate amount of water is coming out by tapping the bottles with my fingers, and if not enough water is coming out, I buy new ones for my pets. This is something I feel is very important that they get good supply of water so I am pretty diligent about replacing bad ones with new ones.

we have one of the glass ones & Nutmeg constantly plays with it and drains it every day- bedding is sodden underneath it. i always find bottles leak after a while & now just put shallow bowls down to try to limit wet bedding,

Their bedding is sodden and now leaks through the cage I’ve had to put a bowl underneath thats Catching it all. I know they enjoy playing the water bottle so I don’t think that helps. I’ll change the position of the bottle and see how it does. Thankyou everyone :)

I know i am kinda late but i reccomend the Great Choice water bottles, they dont leak and are very cute. You can find them at most petstores or order off of amazon.

Thankyou,, I’ll have a look at them now, my piggies just seem to play with the ball inside because of the noise so I think that’s why they were constantly leaking haha
