My two boys seem very lazy.

They have plenty of space, toys, cuddles etc however all they seem to do is sit in their hay boxes stuffing their faces.

Is their anything I can do to encourage them to at least get abit more exercise than the 10 mins in the morning when they go mad?

Do you give them run time?

Our first 2 piggies didn't really do much in run time apart from sit around :))

A good idea is to fill the run with some interesting stuff, this will hopefully get them exploring.

Cardboard tubes filled with hay with a tasty smelly treat such a parsley inside will get them foraging.. Cardboard boxes for them to hide in.

Chubes [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Giant-Chube-Guinea-Rabbit-Hideout/dp/B006LPSPQY"]Giant Chube - Guinea Pig & Rabbit Toy & Hideout (Orange)(TP)(CHUBG/34112): Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies[/ame] are also good fun

Lots of differnet types of hay scattered around such as Timothy and Orchard grass

Found this sticky for you to have a look at also http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=43520

Yeah, pretty much what sport_billy said. Just try and scatter the food, hay, and water bottles around so they have to get up and move to the food. Get or create a fun tube maze or get some enticing chew toys to play with. Hope I helped :)

Its during their day in the playpen when they seem to be lazy. When they go to bed for the night in their cage then thats when they decide to go hyper rolleyes

They have chubes (which they sit in for 5 mins) and I have tried toilet rolls filled with hay, but its almost like they get bored and cant be bothered....however, I have not tried it with parsley, they will do anything for parsley :) I will stuff a sprig in next time!

I don't like scattering hay around because they are on fleece and then my living room floor, I might try stuffing some boxes though and leaving them around.

Will have a look at that sticky!

Thanks.
