So i kind of feel bad because all my pigs do in their cage is lay down and do nothing, pretty much. I need some ideas on how to make their lives a bit more... entertaining?

I give them a whole bunch of toys to fool around with but, they dont seem interested. any ideas? :red

When you say 'toys' what sort of things do you mean, most piggies aren't really interested in throwing things around and would much rather have a toilet roll stuffed with hay or a box with hay and treats inside, something they can smell but have to work to get ! (:

My piggies don't enjoy floor time and just hide so i just let them run around up and down my legs and around my shoulders at least they actually move then !

Our 2 love paper bags and they have a tunnel with a fleece over it which they love to run through and chase each other. I bought the bags off Amazon and a good price I cut them open as well as they love to lay under them like a tent.

My piggies don't like floor time, and i give them all the things everyone has mentioned. The toilet rolls with hay stuffed in them, the paper bags, and the treat cube thing, but they still seem bored as it is. i just don't know, and i take them out every other day. ?/pow-pow

maybe they are like some humans and like to just lay around and do nothing. Is that one of your piggies on your avatar picture if so how cute!

haha, yes it is, that's my fat one, Filbert. My dad took it (the picture), but the orange on his coat came out a bit lighter than it actually is. Thank you. :(|)

And i hope its just because they are lazy.

It could just be their personalities. I have one boy who acts like your piggies, only moves to get to the food, doesn't like floor time, loves laying down on any soft thingy with his legs out and he's been like that from day one. The other boy is very active, zooms everywhere. So long as they are healthy, eating, pooping and so on I wouldn't worry.

To get the lazy boy to at least move a bit at floor time I spread vegies out all over the play area so he at least has to walk to the food. And he does move so that his cage mate doesn't eat it all!

I have a 2 story hutch with a ramp which the lazy boy would not use. After putting in a ramp tunnel, he now uses it so that gives him some exercise as he likes to lounge on top but has to come down for hay, food and water.

All I can suggest is to use their love of food to get them moving a bit.

Thanks for the suggestion on floor time, one of my pigs (filbert) is fat and crazy about food. :P So he'll mostly likely try to get there before my other piggie. And yes, they are eating, drink and pooping. Thank you.

Sorry if someone already mentioned this, but why not trying to teach them some tricks! When its time to give them their food get them out of their cage and let them taste a little piece of lettuce each (of whatever type of guinea food) and then lift it above their heads. (You can find more detailed description of 'how to get your guinea pig to beg' online) Anyway, eventually they will learn (my guineas learned super fast!) and then when they hear you preparing to give them food they will get super excited and start begging in their cage even when you aren't leading them up onto their hind legs with food. Maybe it will give them the kick start they need xD
