Laying down a lot

Hi all,

I’ve had my 2 new pigs for about 4 weeks, so not very long at all. They’re older and spent a long time in a v tiny cage with no hideys so I took them on as they were in a bit of a state. They loved their hideys but nowI’m perplexed as they lay outside their houses constantly, everyday. They’ve never had a fleece bedding or a blanket so I bought them some. I’ve had my other guinea pigs a year and they hardly ever lay down outside of their hidey. I’m hoping they’re just super comfortable - is it normal for them to do this often? They’re eating/drinking fine. They just both sprawl out all the time in view of me

Feel blessed! Your piggies are feeling comfortable and confident in their new home. Guinea pigs will only sleep out in the open if they feel absolutely safe.

Ah that’s lovely, thank you! They’ve just swapped roles and now the other one is doing it. I’m glad they feel comfortable after such a short time
