I have read a lot of threads from people who use fleece as bedding and am getting a lot of good ideas about what to use as under layers (e.g puppy pads., towels - or just go to Ziggy's Piggies and buy some ready made).
I would like to know peoples' views on, laundering fleece - especially what temperature you think is hygienic. I have been using towels up until now ( I have stopped as I was advised that my GPs may get their claws caught in the loops). I was able to wash their towels on a 60 degree wash. I have started using fleece but have to do any GP laundry when my husband is at work as I know he isn't happy me using our washing machine for their stuff.

Any advice ?

I wash towels and vetbed at 60 and used 60 when I had fleece too.

I wash vetbed & the waterproof mattress protectors I use underneath at 60 & also add Napisan in with the laundry detergent. I put the vetbed in an old quilt cover to keep hay & hair out of the machine.

yes I always do it at 60 as 40 is not enough to kill the bacteria. You need to do cosies etc.. at that temp too. I know they aren't supposed to be done at that temp but will be germy otherwise. I use fairy non-bio in the hope it wont irritate their skin
