Late dose of antibiotics, what should I do?

Hi everyone, my guinea pig has been taking antibiotics because one of her paws is swollen. I usually give her a dose in the morning and one in the evening because it says twice a day but today I almost forgot and I gave her the first dose in the afternoon (4pm). How long should I wait between giving her the next one or should I just resume tomorrow morning? Will missing a dose stop them from working properly? I feel so awful

Give her the second dose now and then go back to the normal rhythm.
An 8 hour gap between dosages is perfectly acceptable. Any less than 6 hours, please drop the second dosage and just give the next one on the normal schedule. This advice also goes for humans on antibiotics, by the way.

If medications need to be given strictly spaced apart and on time, you will usually be told by the vet or the dispensing medic/pharmacist. In these cases it is best to set an alert.

Yes, it is not ideal but don't stay up for yet another hour. Your piggy will still be fine.
