Hello just wondered how long it is okay to keep a guinea pig in a large cat carrier for, I'm not talking weeks or anything, more like days, like 3 maybe 4 ? the cat carrier is big enough for my full grown cat to lay and stretch out, turn around etc, would it be a suitable part time home just for a few nights ? obviously i'd be able to have an indoor run out during the day but i don't want to leave a pig in one overnight with no lid

That should be ok as long as you give them some exercise let them run around on the floor etc.
Don't worry as long as the cage is big enough :) but put something over the top to stop him escaping like a box lid book or something :) also make sure it's well ventilated

Thanks, I'm waiting on a cage to be delivered, and thanks to christmas postage and places being closed for the holidays it's taking longer than expected :/

One of my guinea pig died on October 30th and I was wondering if it was a good idea to get another for my remaining boar Harvey? Should it be a boar or sow?
But I'm not fond of the idea of castration....

If you don't want to have him neutered then get a boy, if you go to a rescue they can help you with boar dating and they'll help you pair him with the perfect companion, they'll be able to offer you advice etc. and on top of that you'll be giving another pig a second chance at happiness and having a loving home :)

Thank you... Do you live in Essex?
Do you know any good rehoming centres?
