Hello.

So I posted a while ago about Lando and his tumour diagnosis & the all clear.

I’m still not happy with how he’s doing…

Positives - he’s eating well, seems bright & has gained a little weight since his last check up.

Negatives - we’ve noticed he’s drinking, we don’t always notice him drinking water but as of the last week he has been at his bottle a couple times a day. He’s drinking no more than 100ml a day but he’s still got me concerned.
I’ve just had him out for a cuddle and he’s done two big pees on me without crying.

I’m concerned this is something to do with his kidney?

He has been on meloxaid for a few weeks now but I was concerned that would have an impact on his kidney therefore reduced his regular dosing.

Any ideas of what this might be? Am I worrying over nothing

Hi

The last week has been exceptional and very muggy. My own piggies have drunk noticeably more than normal due to the extreme weather even though temperatures in my piggy lounge never surpassed more than 25 C on the hottest day.

I would think about seeing a vet if the trend for a noticeably higher water consumption (check with the bottle) continues and is getting more pronounced and if there is also some weight loss. Your vet will check how dilute the urine is and how frequent the urination. As a regular intake, it sits within the normal individual range, which runs from zero to fall bottle or more.

Right now I would wait and see whether things settle down again more as the weather is cooling (still waiting for it here).
