Kitty Litter?

hey,
I'm new to guinea pig ownership, I was wondering if it is OK to line the base of my guinea pig's cage with kitty litter? I've asked this question to a few people and I'm getting mixed responses. Any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance!

Hi welcome to the forum.

Cat litter is a definite NO, it can be ingested which is very bad news.

There is honestly no need for litter in piggies cages, have a read of our bedding guides.. http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/threads/bedding-for-guinea-pigs-overview.114219/#post-1592143 We line all our cages with newspaper then a bedding on top..
