this has probably been asked before, but I could not find a single thread on it. Anyway, a friend of mine's hamster passed away, and they gave me an unopened bag of kiln dried pine bedding. They had bought it in bulk, then shortly after their baby passed away :( . I have heard differing opinions on this. I usually use fleece, but can I use this bedding for a while as I don't want it lying around going to waste? The bag says kiln dried. I've smelled it and it doesn't seem to smell of pine and it doesn't seem dusty. I will double check in the morning and edit this post to confirm. Is this safe? Also, how thick should I lay it down if so? Should I put newspaper down, too?

It may dry the piggies feet out.I used some for a couple of days as ran out of aubiouse and their feet we're a bit redder than normal.

Ok. I think I will TRY it. Only for a day or two. Then if cocoa's feetsies seem dry, i will not use it anymore. Thanks for the advice!
