Not really sure if this question should go in this section or in health.
Can wood hides/bridges get disinfected from ringworm spores by leaving it in a hot car? I read ringworm spores die at 110F/43C. Car interiors easily reach that if left in the sun just at 70F. I live in Arizona, where we routinely get much hotter than that. I also read that if you have a piggy get ringworm just to get all new wood toys, but couldn't they just bake in a car for a day and be safe again?

Hi

Personally, I wouldn't like to risk it as it is the protected nooks and crannies that ringworm spores survive in best.

We recommend to soak any wooden furniture in F10 disinfectant and let it dry in the air. It is the same disinfectant that we also recommend for cage cleaning as it is proven to kill ringworm spores. Ideally you get it as a concentrate so you can use it in whatever concentration needed (ringworm requires the highest) but it will last you several years for normal cage cleans as well.

Virkon is the next best world-wide available alternative.
