I’m considering getting two piggies but want to do a lot of research before getting some. To keep them cool, I would prefer giving them something cool to lay on rather than lye next to like a water bottle. On amazon, I have found a metal thing which is meant to cool down small animals. Would this be okay, and if so, does anyone know how long you have to keep it in the fridge/freezer? I have also seen someone put a flat piece of stone (I think slate or something like that) to keep their piggies cool. Would that work better or worse than the metal? Sorry it’s so long and confusing, I just really wasn’t sure. I love in the UK by the way so we don’t have AC and the summers get fairly hot, especially inside.

Some use a fan or a floor tile I think. I’ve used the freezer blocks - unfortunately I think one of the boys chewed it and it started leaking! You can freeze a bottle and wrap it in a towel. You can also try keeping the room cool by keeping curtains closed.

Please add your location to your profile. It makes it easier to direct you to the relevant advise. And:wel:

I have had a lot of success with old floor tiles. You can generally pick odd ones up at a DIY store fairly cheaply, and I just pop them in the cage when it's hot. Some of my piggies have loved them and some just don't appear bothered.
