Hi I have new guinea pigs in my garage (never had any before) and I like to open the garage up as I worry about the light and them always bring in the dark. Anyway a neighbours cat keeps coming in the garage and I am worried it is scaring the guinea pigs. I have just been in there and found the cat asleep in the guinea pigs basket - we use it to have the guinea pigs in the house on my daughters lap as one of the gets a bit crazy.

Any ideas on how to keep the cat out but the guinea pigs safe? Or do I not need to wrooy about the light?

Thank you

They need natural light to process the vitamin c.Don't know how to keep the cat out, sorry

Hi there
If you have windows, I made mesh panels to keep the foxes/cats out of our shed when we housed small animals in there, the panels were fitted behind the window so the window could be opened for air but nothing could get in.

No it has no windows as it is part of our house. The door isn't great so does let light in but not a lot. I had just been out trying to cover any gaps to stop the cat getting in and I have contacted RSPCA as the cat is often to crying at night

Our cat sleeps in the shed on top of the guinea hutch and doesn't bother them. I've even put a cat flap in so he can get in and out whenever he wants. ;)

... My cat used to get in with the piggies whenever possible to lay in the hay with them, she was used to them from a young kitten and doesnt have a problem with them, they dont seem to hate her either.
