How on earth do I keep Lunas butt clean? She has long white hair, which is mostly yellow round her butt.
I try and keep it trimmed short, the wee just seems to go to the next clump of long hair. She's going to end up with a bald butt if I trim anymore.
I've tried water wipes, so there's no chemicals or anything, but they don't get the yellow stain out.
I have given her the occasional butt bath, but am worried about doing it too often, as I know it's not good for their skin.
I don't have a problem with her sister Ginny, as she has conveniently short hair round her butt, and is ginger so no stains.
Am I being too picky? Do I just have to except a yellow butt? She's not got urine scald or anything, so I'm not worried about her health as such.
Can any long haired piggy owners help?
Here is the little fluff ball in question. Complete with dirty butt.

Lol she's cute. Maybe try some gorgeous guineas shampoo? My pinky has long bum hair and I noticed the other day it was all crusty :xd: dread to think what it is.. might have to give him a warm bum wash!

One of my other pigs has a white face and has had a tomato stain on it for weeks which I can't get off :mal:

You have to live with a yellow bum to a certain extent; just keep the hair short and give regular hand warm water bum baths. Fluffy fur is lovely, but it is ever so absorbent. Some piggies are veritable pee sponges! :(

Thanks. She is definitely a pee sponge, love that term lol

Yes I agree with Wiebke, yellow bums are the norm really, their fur does get stained especially as they get older. I wouldn't put soapy stuff around her lady bits too often, it might cause urinary problems. Just use plain water & trim the long bits back :)
